August 28th Meeting - Voices for Kids Speaker
This weeks speaker was Connie Sudbrook, Volunteer Services Coordinator, Collier County, Voices for Kids of Southest Florida. Voices for Kids is part of Guardian ad Litem and we were informed of the many positive activities that the volunteers performed for the kids they serve. They are advocates for kids through the court systems.....an extra set of eyes and ears for the child during the court process. She stated that volunteers were needed now as well as donations to help the service continue. Questions and answers after her well received speech.
Naples Sunset Rotarian and Past President Herb Buck presents Connie Sudbrook with a Rotary Pen in appreciation for an excellent presentation.

August 21st and August 23rd Meetings
Our meeting for August 21st featured Dr. John Christ local podiatrist who displayed a number of operations and procedures that he has performed on patients feet during the last several years.
The Rotary District 6960 Conference was held in Punta Gorda on August 23rd from 7:30am until 4:00pm. Our club was represented by five members which represented 25% of our club in attendance. The area of concentration was in the Rotary Foundation and Membership. The trip was well received and the vehicular transportation was truly smooth .....

Investigative Supervisor of Collier County Code Enforcement Speaker
Member Bob Bodine hands Susana Capasso, Investigative Supervisor of Collier County Code Enforcement, a Rotary pen and thanks her for her excellent presentation discussing the latest happenings and new enforcement procedures.
The wild monkeys from Naples visited our Rotary meeting tonight. Members counted as many as three flying throught the trees located directly behind our meeting club dining area.

Rotary Member Dr. Jan Malet Addresses Club
At the beginning of our August 7, 2008 meeting, Jerrell Neir, Naples Sunset Rotary sponsored foundation student speaks to the club about his goals for becoming a lawyer and his current student activities.
Dr. Jan Malet, memeber of our club addresses us on the current state of stroke and the latest methods to recognize and treat. This slide presentation was extremely well received and had many questions and answers. Thanks Dr. Jan ....
